I was doing a crab study a few years ago and loved these tongs. The design is different than the other two types we tried, and worked better for us. I could grab the crabs easily from any angle. They are stainless so the salt water didn't harm them. This was not true of the other we tried, which had begun rusting heavily after a few days of use. These are also very sturdy. We lost ours after a few years, but they showed no signs of wear in the time we had them. Ours didn't get heavy daily use, but I think these would last a very long time.
